Lyrics: The Vicar of ChurchHill

The Vicar of Church Hill is coming to save the day for you
Like taking a horse pill, its hard to swallow but it’s good for you.

What others run from the Vicar always goes for broke
Shots ring out from a burning building
Where there a fire there’s gonna be smoke
Bullets bounce off of his bulletproof cloak

The Vicar of Church Hill with his horse Justice by his side
The sound of a church bell telling the Vicar that its time to ride

A circuit rider who hasn’t learned the word defeat
Through the fog bank you know he’s coming
The sound of hooves on a cobblestone street
Bad guys and thieves beat a hasty retreat

Treat yourself to a night on the town, you’ll be safe and sound
You can breathe a sigh of relief with the Vicar around
Showing up in the nick of time whenever evil’s around

A rescue mission the Vicar kicks the door right down
All the headlines in every paper
There’s a new hero in town
About The Song

This is the Title song to a book. A friend of mine wrote a book with this title and asked if I could write a 60's style theme to the book. I had been walking around the house singing "The Vicar of Dibley" (British sitcom) to a tune I was forming, so I just put a 60's spin to it, and put in parts of the book to create the song. This song is when I really started to push the whole album in the 60s direction.

Shleprock is playing the guitars on this one. Most of the other instruments are midi, including bass and drums (and the guitar solo) but most people don't notice.

Church Hill is the part of Richmond, VA where St. John's Church is located. This is the place where Patrick Henry delivered his "Liberty or Death" speech.
